Ian and I met in 2000. We didn’t know then it was destined to be but from the beginning we both knew there was something special! We started dating in 2001. Our first real date was a spontanious trip to Florida! In 2005 we were married on the beach at Lake Michigan. A typical Ian and Jamie style wedding, laid back and fun! We wouldnt have it any other way. 2007 brought us our new house in the country, and a lot of renovation and hard work. That brings us to 2008 where we added Ethan to the mix! We survived our first trip to Cabella's this weekend! That store is so nuts, but so fun. It is NOT made for carts or strollers, that is for sure, we had a fun time trying to weave our way in and out of all the small spaces with Ethan's car seat sitting on the cart. There were plenty of people having trouble with big strollers too...but none the less, it was a lot of fun. We got some fun Christmas gifts. Ethan loved all the big stuffed animals...by stuffed I mean like taxadermy. They even have an elephant there! He laughed at it. It was so funny. Here he is sitting in a kid's camping chair, like a big boy!

Other fun things this weekend, I did a photo shoot with a family who I've been doing pictures for for three years. Their kids are so cute. I posted the link on my Shutter Speed blog if anyone is interested. We had so much fun!

As the snow is fastly approaching I thought I'd get Ethan something warm and cozy yesterday. I found this great coat at Macy's. It was 40% off and I had some money on a gift card so I got it for $5.57! I was so excited with my find. Not to mention Ethan looks SO cute in it I could just snuggle him up all day, so I put it on him for some pics. He finally got tired of wearing it indoors and politely asked me to take it off! Not before I captured a few cute facial expressions though...

video

Here is a video of Ethan talking. He always has something to say...

"YES WE CAN!"

I know there is a lot of controversy and mixed oppinions flying around about this election, but I think we can all agree it was a historic one. I felt honored to be a part of history being made yesterday as I watched the news and Barack Obama was announced as the first ever african american president elect. I think it really shows how far we have come just in the past 50 years!

We have definitely seen some hard times and I think there is good to come from this election. I am excited to see the changes. I think above all weather we are white, black, McCain supporters or Obama supports, we need to support our new president in leading our country, pray for him and remember God has a plan and all things happen for a reason.

Happy November

Today Ian and I had Ethan dedicated at church. It was a really great experience to be a part of and fun to have all our families there with us. Here are a couple pictures...

My little man at the restaurant after church looking SO big. I can't believe how fast he is growing. He looks different every day. I'm happy to report his first day at the YMCA child care program went really well. He had a lot of fun it sounds like and his new teacher is really awesome. I think were all going to like it there.

And last but not least, Ethan's three month pic, and him watching Daddy play guitar hero...he was so interested, like he was trying to figure it all out!
